Yes. Every product is genuine Japanese stock, ordered from Japan when you place your order. No replicas, no local substitutes. BunguPal is proudly Canadian — based in Ontario, bringing Japan’s stationery makers to North America, with every order shipped direct from Japan.
Will I owe duties or tax on delivery?
Orders ship from Japan. On Canadian orders over CAD $20, customs may charge duties and GST, collected by the carrier on or after delivery. US orders are priced duty-included by our supplier, so there are no surprise fees on delivery.
How fast is shipping, and what does it cost?
Shipping is a flat $12.99, and free on orders over $99 — the full total is always shown before you pay. Orders ship from Japan and typically arrive in 5–10 business days, tracked the whole way.
Which pen should I start with?
New here? Start with a washi tape set or a glass dip pen and a bottle of ink — small first step, instant joy. Want the art piece? The glass dip pens are the ones collectors reach for.
What if my pen arrives damaged?
Send us a photo and we will refund or replace it — your choice. Defects are on us, never on you.
Do you sell ink and refills?

BunguPal is a Canadian company bringing genuine Japanese stationery to North America. We are based in Kitchener, Ontario, and every product on our shelves is the real thing — made in Japan by the makers who designed it, from heritage houses like Midori, TACCIA and Hakuichi to small artisan workshops you will not find in a big-box store.
The name is the idea. “Bungu” (文具) is Japanese for stationery, and a pal is the friend who helps you pick the right one. That is the job: curate the good stuff, explain it plainly, price it honestly in Canadian dollars, and get it to your desk.
How it works
We hold no warehouse stock. When you place an order, we source it direct from Japan and it ships straight to you — that is how a small Canadian shop can carry 908 products from 61 makers without marking them up like a boutique. Shipping is a flat $12.99 and free on orders over $99, and most orders arrive in 5–10 business days, tracked the whole way.
What we stock
Fountain pens, glass dip pens and bottled inks. Notebooks and Japanese papers that treat a fountain pen properly. Washi tape, stickers and stamp books. Brush pens, gansai watercolours, and desk pieces finished with real gold leaf. If it earns a place on a study desk in Tokyo, it earns a place here.
